In this design session I decided to experiment with two of my favorite things – modularity and wood as material. Back in university when I only studied industrial design, this was called “combinatorics”. The essense of combinatorics is designing a rather simple element, a module, and then creating various patterns and combinations using that module. The more unique and attractive patterns you are able to create – the better is your module. And it is fun to do as well.
So, I created such module in 3-D CAD – part made from bent plywood and tried to build few different lamps, using same module and couple of additional parts.
